Baseball’s June amateur draft began in 1965 and has opened with a first round every June since. These pages cover the first round of every draft from 1965 through 2024: each draft lists its round-1 selections in pick order with the club that drafted them, the player’s position, the school or program he came from, whether he signed, and the bonus the source reported. Rounds two and beyond, the January and June draft phases that ran alongside the June draft before 1987, and the 2025 and 2026 drafts are outside this archive’s scope.
Club codes are the codes of the day, not today’s: the Athletics’ 1965 picks show KCA for the Kansas City Athletics, the Washington Senators show WSH, the Montreal Expos show MON, the Seattle Pilots’ lone 1969 draft class shows SEA, and the Marlins’ first two decades show FLA for the Florida Marlins era. Picks made on another club’s behalf (free-agent compensation picks) carry a “via” note naming the club the pick came from.
