Milwaukee won 103 games, ran the best run differential in baseball, and swept the Dodgers in the NLCS. Tampa Bay won 98 games, took the AL East, and outlasted Cleveland 4-2 in a series where the engine liked the Guardians in five of six games. Now the Rays open on the road in Milwaukee. Our engine, simulating every slot of the 2-3-2 pattern with each club's most recent posted championship-series lineup and rotation-projected starters, makes the Brewers a 74.8% favorite to win the series (25.2% Tampa Bay) before calibration, and those probabilities move with each actual result. Two things you should weigh before reading anything into them: first, these are preview numbers, not locks. No World Series lineup card or probable pitcher had been posted when we ran the sims, so the inputs are projected and the per-game locks publish at lineup-card lock. Second, our own postseason ledger is on the table: the same engine missed Milwaukee in both NLCS games we simulated and needed a no-bet rule to stay off four losing American League picks. We publish the numbers and the misses together.

What these numbers are: 1000-sim Monte Carlo runs of the same production engine used all season (ratings dumped from prod 2026-10-20), with weather conditions pinned to each game date and a reproduce-check that requires two passes to be byte-identical. The series probabilities are not sampled: they are an exact dynamic program over the seven slots, so they are stable to the digit. The calibration applied for the calibrated columns is the production home-axis shift map (card 3075, fitted through 2025-07-31, flat 2.5% on the home side).
What they are not: a betting position. No sportsbook had posted a World Series line when these sims ran, so there is no market number to disagree with, and our shade rule (which refused a pick on all 4 double-digit engine-vs-market disagreements this postseason and was right every time) has nothing to say yet. When the G1 line posts and the lineup cards lock, the real pregame lock with official inputs supersedes every number on this page. The engine also deserves its label of caution: on the seven LCS games we simulated, it favored Cleveland over Tampa Bay five times and lost all four flagged disagreements; the Brewers, meanwhile, outplayed both engine and market by sweeping. Treat the preview as one model's read of a great matchup, with the receipts attached, not as a prediction you can hold us to. See the full postseason ledger for every engine-vs-market number and result.
The 2-3-2 pattern means Milwaukee hosts Games 1, 2, 6 and 7; Tampa Bay hosts Games 3, 4 and 5. The schedule, gamePks and venues above come from the official MLB Stats API postseason schedule.
