Every World Series on record from 1884 to 2025, with winner, loser and the exact result. Club names are era-accurate, the early exhibition-era ties are shown as recorded, and each entry opens that season’s full postseason page.
The 1884 to 1890 entries were exhibition series between league champions, arranged by the clubs themselves; two of them finished level and the labels name the club the source credits. The 1892 season had no interleague series; its split-season playoff is on the 1892 page. The modern World Series dates from 1903, with 1904 uncontested after the National League champion declined to play and 1994 lost to the players strike. From 1969 the postseason grew the League Championship Series, from 1981 the strike-split Division Series, from 1995 the permanent Division Series, from 2012 the Wild Card Game and in 2020 the expanded best-of-three Wild Card Series.
Club names are era-accurate: the 1886 champion is the St. Louis Browns of the American Association, whose lineage continues to today’s Cardinals, and the 1924 champion is the Washington Senators, whose lineage continues to today’s Twins. Each season page links every club to today’s franchise page where the lineage continues.
