MLB publishes an official, free transactions feed on its StatsAPI covering trades, signings, releases and day-to-day roster moves. This archive keeps the roster-shaping subset: every trade, every signing (including minor-league deals signed with a major-league club) and every release where an MLB club is on either side, dating back to 2011, when the feed’s league-wide coverage becomes complete. Injury-list placements, optional assignments and other status churn are left out on purpose, as are moves between two minor-league affiliates.
The capture is fully accounted, row by row. Of the 775,396 raw feed rows scanned, 50,689 were kept: 3,091 trades, 12,640 signings, 32,636 free-agent signings and 2,322 releases. Every other row was filtered with the drop counted and disclosed here: 682,109 rows of injury-list and assignment churn (transaction types outside this archive’s scope), 38,233 moves between two minor-league affiliates with no MLB club involved, and 4,365 duplicate feed entries. Kept plus dropped equals every raw row the feed returned, so nothing goes missing silently.
Each season page lists its transactions newest first with the official MLB description of the move. Nothing on these pages is editorial: the wording is MLB’s own, captured as published.
